adding global hotspare to existing raid 10
R710 running Windows Server 2016
I am using Dell EMC Server Administrator
I currently have 4 hard drives in Raid 10 configuration and recently had a hard drive fail. I was able to get a replacement installed and rebuild the array without too much difficulty, but have decided to add a global spare just in case for future problems.
Problem is, I'm not very well versed on raid setups, and don't want to mess something up.
I have a Perc 6/i Integrated (Embedded) setup, and when I access it using the Dell EMc Server Admin, after plugging in the new drive I want to use as global spare, the system shows Connector 0, which contains my 4 original drives and a Connector 1, which contains the new drive I was trying to setup as hotspare. I don't have an understanding of this, but want to make sure the new drive I loaded up will be used by the Raid in the event of failure? I was leary because of the two different connectors and the extra drive showing connected to the second one instead of being on the original? And an all assistance and advice would be greatly appreciated. And I apologize in advance for my ignorance.

Hello thanks for choosing Dell.
“0 . 1” – these mean each channel of the controller.
So channel 0 has 4 disks
And you can see there’s a new disk on channel 1 and you can global hotspare on the HDD on the channel 1.
