change RAID0 to RAID1 by adding a disk
Hi, I have a single disk configured obviously in raid0. I purchased a new identical disk and I'd like now to add this disk and change the raid type to raid1 without data loss. In openmanage if I click on the raid0 virtual disk, I can select reconfigure and in the following screen I can add the new disk and then change the raid type to raid1. Can you confirm this reconfigures will only make a copy of data on the new disk without any data loss?
Thank you

Kappa85,
That is the correct process, the term for what you are wanting to do is called a Raid Level Migration. It should mirror the existing Raid 0 drive to the new and change to raid 1 without a loss of data. You can read more on Raid Level Migrations here.
Let me know if this helps.

Thank you. I did the correct steps and now it is reconstructing the array.

Hi Chris,
I have R720 and need to do Raid Level Migration too (RAID 0 to RAID 1),
but with different size of disks,
ex: RAID 0 with 300GB, and now i buy 2 new disks with 600GB each,
could you give advice and info,
can i straight migrate RAID 0 to RAID 1 with old disk and 1 new disk (600GB) ?,
or i need to clone old disk to 1 new disk first, then build RAID 1 with same new size disks?
