Dell PowerEdge R730 Disk connection issue

We have Dell PowerEdge R730x and we are using a SSD disk as bootable connected to the PERC controller for some reason every time I reboot the disk connection gets lost and I have to re-plugin again to get it recognised. During that time the controller shows a failed disk.

Sam_510,

Would you confirm a few things for me?

Is this is a drive that came with the server, or was the drive(s) added after the point of sale?

If acquired after the point of sale, would you clarify the part number for the drive?

Is the server up to date on BIOS, iDrac, raid controller, and drives?

What model perc controller is installed?

Do you see any errors displayed when the issue occurs?

Lastly, would you be able to provide some screenshots on what is occurring to further clarify?

Let me know what you see.

i had this issue on a r610 where the drive would show up as a foreign config for some reason or not at all until i ripped it out and reinserted.

solution was just to copy all the data off, delete the VD and recreate it, then put the data back on. I guess somewhere the raid controller got all unhappy about that SSD for some reason.

you could also just have a failing drive or poor connection somewhere.

You could try putting the drive in a different slot
