Disk checking utility
I have a few poweredge 2550's and a whole mess of hard drives laying around. I need a utility that will run off of a floppy (or possibly a bootable CD) that I can use to check out the hard drives. They maybe have been pulled due to errors, but unless I put them in an active machine, I really don't know. I would rather not load an operating system if I can get something that will check these disks without doing that. I have been using the disk utility that is part of the array configuration, but I want something that is a little more complete. Any help would be appreciated!
Thanks in advance!

The other more comprehensive option would be to use dell's 32 bit diagnostic utility program. Just go to the support.dell.com site, populate your product model and diagnostic utilities
you can use a floppy to load the diags.
then do a custom test on the hard drive id you want, it should see each scsi id and be able to run a confidence test and a few other tests.
