Disk managment question

Hi,

We have a new poweredge R910, my colleague has configured 2 RAIDs on this server one RAID 5 with 4 disks and one RAID 1 with 2 disks. today I check the disk managment and see something strange I can see that the RAID 5 showing a disk 0 (going to be use only for data)  and the RAID 1 showing as disk 1 (has only OS on it), shouldnt the RAID 1 be the Disk 0? or this is not effect anything? I personaly think that the RAID 1 that has the OS should show as the disk 0 in the disk manager.

Any idea if this configuration is correct or not?

Mrshahin,

The reason you are seeing it in that order is due to the order they were created, So when the system was configured the Raid 5 was probably configured first. When the OS was installed the second array created was selected for the OS. So you have the appearance that they are backwards. Functionally there is no issue, other than the appearance, so it isn't going to create any instability or issues.

Let me know if this helps.
