Drive bay sensor fault

Im having the same problem with same hardware setup.. If anyone has any ideas please help us both. My server too is mission critical it was used for my forensic training and I have an exam in just over a week :(

I too get the message
"
Error Code - 2900:0221
drive backplane: drive bay sensor (drive 0) drive fault detected
"
Same for drive 2,3 and 5 (I think 5 may be the tape drive)

Also during the diagnostics i get the following
error 2900:0221
Msg System Boot Power Supply Power Supply Sensor (Power Supply 2) Power Supply AC Lost

Anyone got any ideas to help elbrando57 and I?

Sorry, been meaning to reply to this for a while. I don't know if this helps you guys, but I removed one drive, then forced the other drive back online, (CTRL-M or something on boot get's you to the config for the RAID card) then rebooted with everything being fine. Did a quick backup of my data, redid the RAID settings and had it rebuild the other drive without problem. Everything has been perfect since. Dunno what caused error, but haven't had any other problems.

I am having the same problem. Did a solution come up?

Hi there, Sorry! I should have posted back too. I took all my drives offline and checked them all with some repair and maintenance tools I have. I already had backups of the files I use frequently. All drives appeared to be ok. I installed the drives and set them all back online again using the (CTRL-M) elbrando57 used. However when I tried to install the new OS I still got the fatal windows BSOD.
At this point I was getting desperate so I purchased 2 invertable air dusters and set about completely rebuilding the hardware. I now had a bios that didnt recognise I had a Perc card installed.

After downloading the latest firmware and flashing the bios I was given a message stating the Raid bios was corrupt. The Bios firmware flash program hung and after 1hr I decided it was time to kill the power...at this point I thought I had lost serious hardware somewhere. After all a bad bios flash can be fatal!

I tried the bios flashing again and this time all went well and was successful. I flashed the Bios with the perc firmware from dell. Meanwhile I had zero'ed all my drives. With the drives inserted clean my system booted up. I set up my new Raid array and all drives online. The system booted and allowed me to install the new operating system without any errors or problems. My server has been online and alive for 2 days now and problem free.

** one small note- i did run the diagnostic software and still have errors referring to the backplane so just to be sure i bought one from ebay...just in case but i also have my suspicions on the RAID memory**
