FC630 / PERC H730P

Question

Hi,

As per the FC630 owners manual page 101 it seems that the PERC H730P requires two processors.

Is the above accurate in that it will simply not work in a single processor FC630 with the 1.8" Drives.

What other options do I have to use the 8 x 1.8" drives in a hardware RAID on the FC630 1.8" with a single processor; H330?

FC630 support H730 Blade and H730P Slim form factor. H730 Blade is supported with 1 CPU. H730 Slim is only supported when 2 CPU is connected. Below is the part# for H730 Mezz card

Thanks that is good news there's an alternative option.

Do I need to get any additional cables other than the V9W58 / H730?

The FC630 currently has H730P Slim installed with dual processors so I plan to remove H730P Slim and then install H730 with a single processor.

Hopefully a straight swap?

For information how does the PERC RAID blade connect to the SAS/SATA backplane in either the 2.5" & 1.8" FC630?

Also forgot in the above... will the H730 support all 8 1.8' drives?
