Hi,

My problem is same.

My server bios has lost bios setup configuration and has not started RAID Controller.

When RAID controller is enable in BIOS setup, system has recevied message;
"Detected mode swicth SCSI to RAID on Channel A etc..."
"Data loss will Occur !"

Press "Y" to confirm etc..

I have not pressed "Y" yet.

Question is SAME.

please answer this problem as soon as...

please...

SOLUTION:
1.power off system
2.remove scsi drives attached to raid controller
3. power on
4. enter setup, change RAID controller channel A to RAID
5. exit setup saving changes
6. allow card to configure itself as a RAID controller(it will give a no drives present/bios not installed message)
7. machine will fail to find boot devices(drives are unplugged)
8. power off
9. plug all drives back into RAID controller.
10. power on
11. enjoy the Dell experience.

Hi,

I have done all of this step but, the server don't recover old configuration of the RAID,

and apply tje default configuration, as a consequence the server can't boot any more.

Take for answer me soon

This worked for me--thank you so much.

My problem was that the BIOS had been reset to defaults, and the RAID controller had been set back to SCSI mode in the BIOS. I tried switching it to RAID mode, but received the "Detected mode swicth SCSI to RAID on Channel A etc... Data loss will Occur !" message as above. After changing to RAID, allowing the controller to configure itself as you suggest, and then rebooting again with the drives connected, the array came back.
