PE2850: PERC 4e/DI Controller 0, Array Disk 0:0 failed
Hi members,
I need help on my server PE2850 that was built in 2004 (i know it's old now). i receive a message from the Array Manager as PERC 4e/DI Controller 0, Array Disk 0:0 failed. So I thought it was due to one of my 4 physical harddisk already gave away. So i tried to powered off the server, pull out disk #1 & turn it back on. The Windows successfully loaded but there error PERC 4e/DI Controller 0, Array Disk 0:0 failed is still exist. So I repeat the same procedure as above but this time I was putting back disk #1 in & pull out disk #2. Once it was trying to reboot, it was saying cannot find the booting file!
Can someone help me am I doing something wrong here & is it possible to recover the Windows booting and clear the PERC error message? I believe this system is using RAID 5.

Very good choice.
If you are forcing online or trying a retag, please wait for instructions :) You cannot force all 4 drives online if drive 0:0 was previously failed and expect to recover anything. Let me know how it goes with Dell.

hi flash, there was something weird happen when i turn on the server. i got it through until i hit the Ctrl-M & went into the view/add configuration, all HD were scanned as READY. i am sure no changes have been made on those HD & the LEDs on it lit steady green. i was trying to make it all ONLINE but when i went out of the screen & came back to have a check, they are still on READY state, is this normal?
since i was not sure of losing the data, i just hit power off button on the chassis & leave it there while checking with Dell.

yup, surely do buddy. something tells me the RAID controller is not stable (am i :)?)
