PERC and Configuration on Disk

Hello !

I'm a newbie in the Dell's World :smileywink:

This is my question : what are the different models of PERC card that accept the "Configuration on Disk" ? (2/DC, 2/SI, ?, ?, ?,...)

Thanks a lot !

(sorry for my bad english :smileysad:, i'm french !)

All PERC cards accept configuration on disk.

There are two different vendors, and they cannot read each other's on disk configuration unless it's a single drive RAID 0 which can be imported as a foreign disk.

AMI/LSI controllers such as the PERC II, PERC 2/SC, PERC 2/DC, all card versions of the 3,4,and 5 series. PERC 4/Di

Adaptec controllers, such as the PERC 2 (quad chanel card), Perc 2/si, PERC 3/si, and PERC 3/di.

We do also have the CERC series, with only the IDE CERC 4 channel, and the SATA CERC 6 channel, as these are IDE and SATA, I did not include them in the list.

The documentation for the Dell Openmanager Array Manager will call out the controllers as either PERC Subsystem 1 or PERC Subsystem 2, all controllers within a given series should be able to read the configuration, though there is one early F/W version on the PERC II that is not compatable.
