PERC H345 Flashing

Hello, I have a PERC H345 Front-variant in a PowerEdge T550.

I am looking to flash a different firmware version but get a "Unable to validate Image file" from both perccli and storcli tools, running from both Linux and EFI. After researching, I see that some of the previous generations of PERC cards had a J4 jumper that allowed the flash to be written to. Looking over the H345 Front, I do not see these jumper pins. The full-size PCIe variant does have them.

I did notice some circular pads which are marked J4. They don't have pins as normal jumpers do, so it is unclear to me if these can be used as jumpers or not.

Does anyone have experience with these jumpers on the H345, or flashing between different firmware versions in general with these newer SAS3416 cards?

Hi thanks for choosing Dell. I’m afraid I don’t have any answer for tweaking things since it has not been tested by Dell but this is a community open to all let’s see what others have to offer. Wish you a good one.

Are there any technical docs for these cards that would explain how to flash them e.g. for recovery purposes, where the normal flashing mechanisms may not work? I have read through the public support site but it is usually discussing only firmware upgrade steps. Thanks!

TBH the controller card you are using does not have any jumpers.
