PERC H700 Boot looping within post

Hi all,

I am uncertain if this might be the appropriate place to ask this cause this isn't a PowerEdge brand server. I purchased a PERC H700 for a DIY server for a SUPERMICRO MBD-M11SDV-8C-LN4F AMD EPYC 3251 SoC motherboard. This board basically doesn't have a 24pin connector and is reduced to 4 pins. I am assuming this RAID card can't get enough power to even operate and it will boot loop the system? the card will get a base port adapter not responding, sometimes it get the press y to enter setup but would boot loop back to the beginning of POST.

I used this on a different Supermicro board which is full EATX and with a full 24 Pin connector and no issues with the card after these errors on the EYPC board. Full functionality of the card.

If someone can confirm that what I am suspecting is the cause of this issue or may know what could be a cause, any info is appreciated.

Thanks

Hello,
I can confirm that the problem you are experiencing is due to the connector not suitable for the PERC card.
Thanks
Marco

Thanks for the reply, I also confirmed that the generation of card wasn’t supported on this particular motherboard per super micro support.
