perc h700 question
I've picked up a T310 server off of ebay and wish to upgrade from Perc 6 and get a H700 card so i can take advantage of higher capacity drives. So looking at the H700 card it shows 2 physical connections. Does this really mean I can connect only 2 HDDs to the H700 card?
Reading up here: https://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pvaul/en/dell-perc-h700-h800-transition-guide.pdf shows it has 2 internal connectors and 8(2x4) ports/channels.
Im mean, do i need to pick up some sort of Y splitter cable or something?
Im totally lost here. How many physically sata drives can i connect to this card?
EDIT: AHHHHH! I think if i picked up 2 of these cables that would allow 4 drives, right?

Hello
You will probably need to use our cable. Those cables will not supply power to the drives. The power connector on the system board is most likely non-standard/proprietary.
Y690K - SAS cable
T871M - LED cable
The LED cable is not necessary, but if it is not connected the disk lights will not work correctly. I don't think the LED cable on the PERC6 will work on an H700.
Thanks
