Potentially Corrupted RAID Array?
Hi Guys,
We had a failed drive in our Dell PowerEdge R720xd server with a Perc H710p Mini RAID controller. I replaced the drive via hot swap and assigned the new drive as a global hot spare which went fine.
One of the Dell employees gave me some advice, saying the RAID did not need to be rebuilt as it was not degraded but when I boot up the server and go to disk management, the whole disk is "not initialized".
I am not too sure what to do next as I don't want to power cycle with a potentially degraded RAID. I pulled the controller logs but I can't seem to attach them here and I am not sure how to interpret them. I attach two screenshots of the VD and PD management screens at present.
If you have any ideas or advice that would be really helpful and if I can add anymore information just let me know.
Thanks,
Rob.

Hello,
you have two physical disk in foreign state. The PD 06 (that is the one who really failed) and PD 02.
You need to import foreign configuration in order to make PD 02 part of the RAID6.
So F2 selecting Virtual Disk 1 and import foreign config.
Then the hot spare should rebuild the volume.
Thanks

I have uploaded the controller logs to pastebin if that's the best method to show them.

Thanks very much Marco. I imported the config and can see the two drives are rebuilding now. Lets hope it all goes ok.
Appreciate it,
Rob.
