Poweredeg 1750 Background Initialisation State
Lads, I had an issue with my poweredge 1750. One of the drives was failing and there was some errro about nvram mismatch. I went into the Perc Bios config and did a view/confiure of the raid and it seemed to have screwed it up as when I now go into the configuration it tells me that it is in Background Initilisation state and it just keeps rebooting itself just after it reaches windows 2003 startup screen. I think I am in serious trouble here?

Well buddy, it's not looking good. The RAID settings are stored on both the drive(s) and the controller. The NVRAM mismatch error indicates that a drive has a different configuration stored on it than the controller has. Importing the wrong configuration can often cause the controller to use an unusable RAID configuration - or one whose data has been severely corrupted. If you can provide details for EXACTLY the order of sequence and timeline - drive failure/removal, accepting mismatch/disk view/NVRAM view, which was saved, etc., then we can possibly piece together what happened and what kind of chance you have of recovery. Warning: its not looking good so far.
