Poweredge 13th generation chassis compatibility
Hello all. I've a Poweredge T320 with x8 3.5" hot-swap chassis. I'd like to buy another poweredge T630 with a x18 3.5" hot-swap chassis and move some of the disks installed on the T320 to the T630. All disks to be moved are SATA 7.2k 4TB.
Will I have some compatibility issues? The target controller is H730 and the source controller is H310 configured as non-raid.
I'm mostly interested in mechanical/electrical issues (e.g. not compatibile caddies and so on) over eventual data loss on the moved set of drives.
Thank you in advance.

Svghido,
KG1Ch is the supported 3.5 carrier for the server. The drive, while not showing as a procided disk, does have specs matching the supported drives. So there is a good chance that drive should work.

Svghido,
Unfortunately there will not be cross compatibility between the drive carriers. The 13th generation HDD caddies have changed their layout, from the 12th generation, with regards to the 3.5 inch drives. So the 2 generation servers would have to have the carriers swapped to get the drive to fit. I would also need the part numbers of the 2 different sets of drives to let you know if the specific drives are compatible either. The different controllers should support migrating the VD between the H310 to the H730, but it would be the compatibility of the remaining components that would be questionable.
Let em know if this helps answer your questions.

Thank you very much.
The specific drives that I'd like to move to the new server are WD4000FYYZ (non dell-certified).
Do you think they will be compatible? And also, will the compatible carriers be P/N:KG1CH so simply I should buy some new compatible carriers in order to achieve the migration?
What other kind of compatibility issues I could have?
Thank you in advance.
