PowerEdge 2500 not finding Hard Drives when installing Windows 2000 Server
Hi Guys, I have an old PowerEdge 2500 that has Windows NT installed. I want to now format the HDD's and install Windows 2000 Server. Whenever I start the install, after the basic drivers have uploaded, the install finds NO Harddrives! I know that there must be SCSI drivers missing, but I cannot find any SCSI drivers for the Fujitsu Drives installed. I have searched on Dell.com with no luck. In fact I would have thought that Dell would have this issue documented somewhere, but it seems it is very well hidden?
Can anyone solve this puzzle?
Regards
Wala

The problem is Win2000 does not have Raid Controller drivers native to the Operating System. You must press F6 when ptrompted by the install to load the proper drivers. If you are not sure which raid controller is installed in your PowerEdge 2500, please provide your Service Tag Number, I can check the original shipping configuration.
These are the latest firmware and drivers for the default raid controller:
Adaptec PERC3/Di Firmware, PowerEdge 2500 / 2500SC, v.2.8.0.6089, A08
FileName: PE2500-280_6089.exe [1 MB]  Release Date: 4/16/2004
Adaptec Perc 3/di Driver, Windows 2000, v.2.8.0.6085, A15
FileName: W2K-2806085.exe [259 KB]  Release Date: 4/14/2004
These are the latest firmware and drivers for the optional raid controllers:
LSI Logic (formerly AMI) Perc 3/dc, 3/dcl, 3/qc, 3/sc, Firmware, v.196T, A24
FileName: perc3-196t-a24.exe [1 MB]  Release Date: 2-23-2004
LSI Logic Perc Driver, Windows 2000, v.5.46, A02
PERC 3/dc and 3/qc
FileName: perc-cerc-w2k-5.46-A02.exe [100 KB]  Release Date: 2-23-2004
