PowerEdge T20 - Replacing HDD
Greetings,
We have an PowerEdge T20 server running a RAID1 configuration.
The 500Gb hard drives are almost full and we would like to upgrade the drives.
Is there a way to replace the drives (2Tb) and extend the partition to use all the new disk space?
Thank you for your reply.

R0ryS,
With the T20 using the embedded controller there isn't a way to expand the Virtual Disk (VD) with Online Capacity Expansion. The supported way of doing this would be to backup the data, delete the VD, recreate the VD with the larger drives, reinstall the OS, then restore the data from backup.
Let me know if this helps.

Hi Chris,
Thanks for taking the time to reply.
Not the answer I was hoping for, but it will have to do.
We will do as directed.
Have a good day further.
