Hi,
To replace a failing hard drive in a RAID 1 setup on your Dell R220 with Windows Server 2008, follow these steps:
Identify and Purchase the Replacement Drive: Ensure it matches the specs of the current drive.
Back Up Data: Always back up important data before proceeding.
Replace the Drive: Power down the server (if necessary), replace the failing drive with the new one.
Rebuild the RAID Array: The RAID controller should automatically rebuild the array with the new drive. This might take a few hours.
Monitor the Rebuild and Verify: Check the RAID controller's status to ensure the rebuild completes without errors.
Remember to consult your server manual or Dell support for model-specific guidance.
Hope this helps!
