Raid 1 array rebuild won't work - new to RAID
Sorry to asking the obvious but I am new to RAID.
My mail server contains 2 seagate hard drives, mirrored in RAID 1.
The first disk on controller 0 failed whilst the second disk on controller 1 works fine. The OS boots and work has continued for about 2 weeks now on the degarded virtual disk. I am worried about loosing the second disk altogether. The virtual disk is now in a degraded stated. The status of the failed disk read "failed" so I removed it and replaced with another seagate HD of the same size.
Upon rebooting the server the rebuild process took place but the drive still reads failed. I use Dell OpenManage 3.3 and PERC Subsystem 1 CERC ATA100/4ch controller.
Any help/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks.
