Raid 10 multiple failed drives replacement issue

Good day.

One of my servers is a Dell R430 that had four Dell 3.5inch 15k 300GB SAS drives in raid 10. two of the drives failed at the same time and the array degraded but was still functioning. The only Replacement drives I could get where Seagate EXOS 2.5 inch 15k 300GB SAS, The packaging says that they are replacement dell drives. I powered down the server, inserted the two new drives and booted into perc and the array started to rebuild automatically and completed successfully. I then rebooted and it booted into server 2012 R2 with no issues.

My Question is that the VD status in perc shows as "Ready" and not "Online", Under the Physical Disks tab, all four drives show online. The system is running fine but all my other servers VD's show as "online".

Thanks in advance

Keith

Hello Keith.w,

I would recommend confirm the status of your backup.

Next check your controller firmware is up to date:

Dell PERC H730/H730P/H830/FD33xS/FD33xD Mini/Adapter RAID Controllers firmware version 25.5.9.0001

https://dell.to/3UXYGyX

Install OMSA and check the Storage section for any issues. You can also run a Consistency check on the array.

Dell EMC OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node for Windows, v9.3.0

And the patch

Dell EMC OpenManage Server Administrator Managed Node for Windows (Patch), v9.3.0.2
