Raid 3/Di cannot auto rebuild
PE2500, Raid 3/Di v.2.7-1, 5X18.9G Raid 5
After one of the drive fail (ID4), I replace it with a 36G drive. But it did not auto rebuild by itself. I have tried to make the new drive as hot spare but it is still the same. Anybody can help ?
Thanks !

You are not alone, however I am still searching for a fix to this. Dell support have tried to fix with no success.
My problem is similar. PE4400, Perc 3Di, v 2.5 BIOS, 5x16Gb Disks.
One disk failed and now the array is in a failed redundancy state. I replaced the failed disk and it would not auto rebuild. I had the FAST s/w installed but it would not work either. Dell support say that to get Fast to work properly I need to upgrade BIOS but that can't be done until Raid array is working normally. Catch 22!
So I had to use the BIOS but like you, the drive was made a hot spare and would not rebuild. I have tried 3 different brand new drives and none have worked.
