RAID not recognized in Array Manager

I am running a Poweredge 2500.  There is a RAID key and a RAID DIMM installed.  I have checked both to make sure they are the correct key and DIMM.  They both are correct.  I have no RAID battery, but according to another thread I read on the same subject, the lack of a battery should not cause the problem I am having.

I boot the server with the Dell OpenManage Server Assistant v7.4 CDROM.  I choose to go into the array manager tool.  I can see the 5 disks I have installed in my system, but I cannot create a virtual disk.  It is as if there is no RAID controller installed in the system.

Based on another thread on this subject, I checked the BIOS.  There is no mention of RAID anywhere in the BIOS.  Can someone who has had a similar problem help me out?

Go into the system bios (F2). There should be a entry called "Integrated Devices". Highlight and hit enter on integrated devices. It should pop-up a screen that shows the embedded raid controller, use the space bar to change the setting  to RAID enabled on channel A.  Save changes and reboot.

This sounds similar to a problem we are having. We have the on board RAID option installed in our PE 2550 but today it won't boot and when we go into the BIOS integrated devices there is no mention of RAID. The SCSI recognises the 3 hard drives which are using RAID 0 but will not boot despite giving them signatures.

If the RAID option does not show under integrated devices in the system bios, reseat the RAID components (RAID Key and DIMM).  If the raid option still will not show, it may be a motherboard or raid component problem.
