Raid Storage Manager 'no controllers were found'
Dear all,
I'm currently configuring a PowerEdge 1800 for a non-profit organisation, that has been donated this 6 yr. old server. On their request I've installed Windows SBS 2008 (x64) on the server.
The server holds an 0H2052 RAID controller (a.k.a. Adaptec 2610SA). I've been able to install Win SBS 2008 on the server, by using the 'cercsr6.inf'-driver (R180080) while loading the operating system.
After finishing the Windows installation I've installed RAID Storage Manager (RSM) version 5.20.00 (x64) on the server, to configure and manage the RAID-configuration. However, RSM tells me 'no controllers were found' and no devices a/o disks are shown in the tree. I'm unable to manage the RAID-configuration.
Does anybody have an idea how to solve this issue?
THanks & kind regards,
Marco Visser

The only storage management software that is supported for a Dell server and a Dell RAID controller (regardless of who makes it for Dell) is OpenManage Server Administrator (OMSA). Dell's RAID Storage Manager is not supported on the 1800 or Server 2008, and Adaptec's RAID Storage Manager will likely not work for the Dell-branded CERC SATA 1.5/6CH card.

Download and run to extract files, the run C:\Openmanage\windows\setup.exe. Just in case your firmware is out of date, choose Custom install and make sure that Storage Management is installed.
