SC430 Primary IDE does not boot
I'm installing RH 4.3 on a first IDE drive and can not boot from this drive on SC430 server. I have checked the basics - PATA0 is enabled, I have set up boot sequence, still nothing. Same installation has no problems to boot from SATA drive. I'm using a standard WD 80GB drive. Has anyone been able to boot from IDE harddrive ?

When installing GRUB during Red Hat Installation make sure to use 'advanced options' and move your boot PATA drive to the top of the sequence. Otherwise GRUB will install on the first drive MBR. In this box case that was SATA-0.
