T150 PERC cable part number

Can anyone confirm the part number for cable to connect a PERC H345/355/755 to the four internal T150 hard drives?

I'm hoping @maranellotech or @Ico747 might be able to help as their previous posts suggest they are running similar configs.

It's pretty easy to find the older style for the T130/T140 but I've not seen anything for the T150 with newer PERC cards. The service manual doesn't help much apart from show the alternative routing: https://www.dell.com/support/manuals/en-uk/poweredge-t150/pet150_ism_pub/cable-routing?guid=guid-1aeb6d79-6f2f-4dc6-b9b3-b283c4370f14&lang=en-us

Thanks in advance,

Yes, as I said, there may be cases where non-compatible disks work, but this is the responsibility of the user. It is important that the changes made to the server later are compatible first. You are talking about two servers with generation differences and systems where the firmware structure has changed. You can check parts&repairs section via this link after enter your service tag https://dell.to/3Xi1OYY or you can contact with your local Dell sales team. Maybe you can check with a few Dell parts, as I technical team member I could find below part number for some SSDs. Of course as I can't help with non-Dell uncompatible parts but our community can suggest their experience with you. Let's see how they contribute this thread.

Some SSDs I have seen for the T150
if you pay attention, some of the disks are vendor Samsung but they are parts that come with Dell labels and firmware.

That certainly looks correct, thank you very much. I'll report back once I've sourced one.

Hello,

We have purchased a PowerEdge T150 without a PERC controller...

We bought a PERC H345 with the adapter cable mentioned above.

The disks are detected, but we are not able to get any disk to be compatible. All of them show as unsupported in the Lifecycle.

We tried with Samsung SATA EVO 870 500GB... and 2TB.

We thought it was because they weren't enterprise drives, so we bought some that are theoretically compatible, specifically Kingston Kingston DC600M and still don't work.

Hello,

The issue seems to be disk compatibility.

Even though the Samsung SATA EVO 870 and Kingston DC600M are recognized, they show up as ‘unsupported’ in the RAID utility. This usually means the RAID controller doesn’t fully recognize them as compatible.

Dell RAID controllers, especially enterprise ones, often need enterprise-grade drives or those validated by Dell. Consumer SSDs, like the Samsung EVO series, usually aren’t validated for server RAID controllers. If you can, please use drives that Dell has specifically validated drives and SSDs. I know some users may run non-Dell drives on their systems but it doesn't run for every disk.

Hope that helps!

I also have a T130 Server, and I have the exact same disks ( Samsung ) installed...

Maybe the difference is that one is integrated into the motherboard and the other is external...

Otherwise, what disks are compatible then? Could you tell me the models?

Thanks for your response but, these disks cost a fortune... it's completely unfeasible for a low-budget server...

This disks cost more than the server itself... it seems absolutely crazy to me...

If this is the case, they will have lost a low-budget Dell server customer... it's a shame because they are good servers at fairly competitive prices...
