T310 with sas 6/ir controller replace failed drive in raid
I have a T310 with a sas 6//ir raid controller. One of the drives in a raid 1 is failing. What is the best way to replace the failed drive?

Sorry ... forgot the SAS 6 doesn't support "force offline". Just remove it.

Thx for the info. My is predicted failure but the drop down in the openmanage does not give me the option to force offline. Can I just pull it out and put in the new drive or do I have to shut it down and boot into the controller settings?

If the drives are accessible from the outside/front of the machine, remove the failed drive "hot", wait 30 seconds, then insert the replacement.
If the drives are cabled inside the chassis, shut down to replace it.
If the drive is in predicted failure, force it offline first.
