UCS-51 disables onboard raid controller?
I have just put a UCS-51 into my machine so that I may connect 4 more drives.
However, when I have this card in my system, it appears to disable the raid bios of the onboard controller.
Does anyone know if a way around this?
Thanks
Mark

What kind of Poweredge server do you have? And what is a UCS-51? Reading between the lines I understand a SAS or SATA controller, but what brand? Dell has PERCs and SAS5 and SAS6 controllers.

I am using it in a standard computer rather than a server. The card is a Dell UCS-51 (actually states that on the card itself). I believe this is the part number for the SAS 5i/r ?

If it's a standard computer, you'll want to contact the manufacturer of your motherboard to see if they have a newer bios that maybe is more compatible with LSI SAS/SATA cards (Dell uses LSI cards for their servers).
