Use indicators for SSD MLC drives
I recently purchased a Dell R720XD with 24 SSD MLC SATA drives, model number: mz5ea200hmdr
Checking iDrac and with Dell, I find there is not an easy way to follow life-left on these drives? Is this the case? Do they simply just go from working to fail without warning?

Labcoat,
You can access the boot menu via F11 at startup and then select System Utilities- Launch Diagnostics. You can then run a DST short test on the drives.
Most of the time, unless hardware in drive fails, the drive will go to predicted failure before failing completely.

I just did what you recommended and I see how it works/the "Results" tab.
I really wish there was a way to show a % of life left or used however.

Also, I would like to be able to do tests such as this via iDrac and/or, when the server is online, and not "pre-boot" <-- is this possible?
