Ctrl-m is used to enter the configuration software when the system has an LSI or AMI PERC controller.  If you have an Adaptec PERC Controller, ctrl-a is used to enter the configuration software.  I highly recommend installing Array Manager or Server Adminstrator.  Rebuilding or adding a drive is accomplished much easier via these than thru the Adaptec software.

Go into the "f2" setup, look under integrated devices, made sure under scsi it is set to "raid".  My next step would be to download the Dell Server Update Uitility.  I know you mentioed you updated the BIOS.  However dealing with PERC's it is recommened that you update the BIOS, ESM/BCM/,  PERC Drivers & Firmware.  The SUU will look at everything and make sure all is current and matching.  You may find this at:

You will need a CD burner and and software that will allow you to burn, not simply copy, and ISO to CD.  If at any point will running this you get an error that it can not update to a certain version, another instead is required, it is because this system needs some prerequisites updated.  You will find the ISO for this at:

It would be helpful to know what PERC Controller this system is using.
