We are getting this error as well.  It is quite disturbing since this was a fresh install as of 9/10/2004.

As an FYI.....I went back and downgraded the drivers to 2.7 and the event log messages went away.

I will try to do the same and post my findings.

Thanks for posting an update.

got the same errors (afamgt ID 4097-Timeout and perc2 ID 9)after removing Adaptec FAST and installing ArrayManager. After upgrading driver and firmware from 2.7 to 2.8 its quite disturbing and system log fills up rapidly.

Downgrading to 2.7 is not acceptable.

Hey, DELL Support, anybody here?
Any other ideas?

We are also experiencing the same issue. Upgraded Power Edge 2400  to 2.8 firmware and started seeing the same repeated warning messages: "Timeout Detected." Called DELL and was instructed to remove Adaptec FAST and install Arraymanager - did not resolve issue.

Hi everyone..

got an official reply from Dell after talking to one of their tech support who said - they were aware that several companies were having this issue and the SUGGESTED that downgrade to 2.7 will FIX IT?

SO i aksed him - how about a hotfix? nothing planned for now ..??

So we are just going to wait for the next upgrade which will no doubt address this issue annoying though but its not doing any harm

so far - touch wood - and all that

Hi, Like everyone I've had this problem ever since I upgraded to V2.8, have uninstalled and reinstalled Array Manager, but still get the event, sometimes a couple of time, sometimes lots. So far does not seem to have any il-effects on the server, so as last thread suggested people can only downgrade to 2.7 or just put up with the event log warning until Dell fix it. If a fix is produced can someone post the link in a thread for all to see. Thanks.
