Event log errors 8198/1058 on server 2012 R2

Noticed the following event errors on server 2012 R2

  • 8198 – License Activation (slui.exe) failed with the following error code
    hr=0xC004F057
  • 1058 - Security-SPP
Installation of the Proof of Purchase from the ACPI table failed. Error code: 0xC004F057

These are on the Dell pre-installed partition, any suggestions how to solve these.

Is the system connected to the Internet, or have they been since being turned on the first time? It must or activation will fail.

Download and run RWEverything, go to ACPI, MSDM tab, and get the key, then return to the activation screen and attempt to activate

Look under Access, ACPI Tables, or use the ACPI icon:

Yes system is now connected to internet.

But according to control panel -> System and Security -> System -> Windows Activation
"Windows is Activated"
So why are we seeing these errors.

Tried that but still there is no MSDM tab, it is simply not present.

Warning:  Installation of the Proof of Purchase from the ACPI table failed. Error code: 0xC004F057
Event ID: 1058

Resolution:

This warning can be safely ignored per Microsoft:

support.microsoft.com/.../2916670

This user claims Dell provided a registry change that can mute the warning:

Dell Confirmed it Here:
