How do I upgrade Windows Server Licence?

Since our IT Manager left I have had to learn about servers therefor i installed a trial edition of Windows 2003 Server onto a computer at home.
This has been great to use and learn on without screwing things up at work however it will shortly run out so I'll need to buy a full copy.
Once I purchase a full copy with 5Cal do I just put the CD in and upgrade or do i have to do a complete new install?
I now find I have got a nice little home server setup going and really don't want to loose all the links and set up as its taken me so long to get there!
Any advice most welcome.

You should be able to upgrade in place. There will be some options after the initial copying of files that will ask you what you want to do. You don't want to install a fresh copy Windows, as that will wipe out everything you have done. Read the explanations for the various options carefully. Since I don't install Windows Server too often I am going by memory. You also don't want to format the drive, as that too will wipe out everything you have done.

Thats great thank you.
You've answered my question as I was worried I screw things up sticking another disk in without knowing what lay ahead.
I'll give that ago.
