Installing Windows 2000 Server on a PowerEdge 1300

I want to do a clean install of Windows 2000 Server on a Dell PowerEdge 1300 and do not have DOSA, version 6.4 available.  I have read is some posts that it may not be the best choice anyway, and would like your help.    I would like a list of the latest drivers/firmware and installation order.  Your help is appreciated.

Hi Pat,

I would recommend these 2 firmware upgrades first:
System BIOS, PowerEdge 1300, A11
File Name:  B2756E11.exe
http://support.dell.com/filelib/format.aspx?ReleaseID=R21212

(AMI) PERC2/SC, Firmware, v. 3.13, A02
Filename: P2SC313.exe [641 KB]
http://support.dell.com/filelib/format.aspx?ReleaseID=R15116
Note: Do NOT use on an existing NT 4.0 installation.

Win2000 has drivers native for all the components in your system, however I would recommend these upgraded drivers after the install is complete:

(AMI) PERC II, 2/SC, 2/DC, Driver, Win2000, v. 2.68, A03
Filename: W2k268A.exe (47 KB)
http://support.dell.com/filelib/format.aspx?ReleaseID=R25714

Intel PRO Family of Adapters, Driver, Windows 2000, v.6.7, A00
FileName:  Intel_LAN_67_W2K_A00.exe [6 MB]
Release Date:  7/3/2003
http://support.dell.com/FileLib/Format.aspx?ReleaseID=R63084

Thanks for using the Dell Community Forums!

Thank you Mark,

Your information was great.  I completed the server setup without any problems.

Thanks again,

Pat Kelly
