Linux Kernel and PERC Cards

Question

I'm running a 4300 with a PERC 2/SC with RHEL v.3 installed. I'm trying to install v.4 with the 2.6 kernel.   I've seen on many posts that the megaraid driver was discontinued in the 2.6 kernel which the 2/SC card needs. My question is, what model PERC do I need that supports the newer raid driver in the 2.6 kernel. Bear in mind also that the card has to be PCI 32 bit as the 4300 doesnt have 64 bit slots.   I've seen 3x and 4x cards on eBay, but am not sure if they will be any better than the one I have.   I've looked at the LSI and Adaptec websites for the model and drivers and the 3x cards dont seem to support RHEL v.4 and the 4x cards are 64 bit.

I'm not running RHEL4, but I am running a PERC2/SC on a 2.6 Kernel...

I'm running Gento 2.6.15 on a PE2300 with a PERC2/SC, I have no issues.

The minimal install CD detects the controller ok, and when I compile my kernel, I have two options

[ ] LSI Logic New Generation RAID Device Drivers

<*> LSI Logic Legacy MegaRAID Driver

The New Generation driver does NOT work. The Legacy driver works just fine for me.
