Local web development server
I like to find a guide to the steps necessary to stand up a local web development server.
I'd really like it to "appear" to be just like a hosting company where I have a cPanel that would allow me to install Wordpress or Joomla or whatever I want.
So basically I would like to turn my R710 into its own shared hosting server that operates entirely within a closed network but would look and operate like a fully operational website. So it would have a connection to the outside because it would have to have the ability to load Google Maps, and YouTube links, etc, Whatever the requirements of the site might be.
Thanks in advance.

Hi glen4cindy,
little do I know about setting up such software on a server, but overall I recommend,
1. think of what servers you need
2. deciding the hypervisor
2a. set up the virtual network (here you decide which virtual switch" is able to connect to the outside and which not)
2b. set up the virtual machines (connect them to the desired network)
3. install the needed software on the systems
4. open any needed port in your local network
5. to be able to connect from the outside you need to have a static IP (not the server, the router) or a dynamic IP set up
This should open the gates to the world wide web
Cheers
