OS Driver Pack missing

I have a PowerEdge T420 and am trying to install the operating system. I have configured everything through the Lifecycle Configurator.

When I get to the option to deploy the OS, an error comes up saying "Unable to Retrieve the list of supported operating systems (SWC0015). I have done the Firmware upgrade route, and selected the OS Driver package, After the download, the following error occurs: "Unable to install the Update Packages. (SUP0531).

All the other firmware's and software has updated successfully, except for the OS Driver Package. I am stuck as I cannot get an OS installed on this server.

Hello mikeymol1

I just installed the latest OS driver pack(7.4.0.14) on an R720XD to make sure there were no issues. It installed for me.

Try installing it through the iDRAC web interface. Connect to the iDRAC embedded web server via the iDRAC IP address and go to iDRAC>Update and Rollback in the left pane. You can perform updates using Windows 32 bit Dell Update Packages here. Download this file to your computer and browse to it. It will upload the file from your computer to the LCE(LifeCycle Controller Enhanced). Once the download completes choose to install it.

If there are any issues let me know this info:

  • Bios version
  • iDRAC version
  • LCE version
  • iDRAC/BMC license type(BMC, iDRAC Express, iDRAC Enterprise)

Thanks

Thank you for your help. Yes this worked.

Some advice in case anyone else experiences the same issues. I was trying to do the update through iDRAC locally on the server. I also tried top do the update through iDRAC connected to the web. I tried to do the update via the web browser from my PC, using the x64 software, and these ways all failed.

I tried the method listed above, and used the 32 Bit, and all worked.

thank you for you help.
