PE 6600 W2K3 standard CPU missing in task manager
hi there.
i have a power edge 6600. it has 4 2.7ghz Intel xeon CPU's
im running windows 2003 server standard edition SP1 with terminal services and citrix metaframe.
when i boot the system, the BIOS POST recognizes all 4 processors. i even went into the BIOS and it showed 4 CPU's. i also installed the dell open manage software and the 4 CPU's are all present and working.
when i go into the windows task manager and check the performance tab, it only shows 1 processor. i made sure to check the option that says "one graph per CPU" but it is grayed out. i seem to think that windows is not seeing all 4 processors but the server is
please help......
i built this server from scratch and did not use a dell image.

i've the same server but 4 xeon 2ghz.
win3k3 ent. edition shows me 8 cpu (4 real and 4 virtual - HT).
think the matter is in SP1. i've installed without SP1.
a couple weeks ago i tried to install win2k3sp1 ent. edition on an old PE6100 (4x200 pentium pro). the results are the same as yours! i've see just one cpu!
try to install win2k3 without sp1.

i orginally installed w2k3 with out sp1 and had the same results
i figured SP1 woudl fix the problem. but it didnt
also noted, the server has teh latest firmware for the BIOS, ESM and RAID controller
i am running w2k3 STANDARD edition. but this shouldnt be a problem
i have another server with identical hardware and software. the only difference being that is w2k3 with ENTERPRISE edition.
