pe400sc
can i use a pe400sc as win2k computer,not as a server? what is involved? dell is really selling them at reasonable prices. thx in advance.

You certainly can. It's just that the AGP slot and sound are not supported by Dell (read: If you bork eitherr one, they won't care. That's not why they sold you the system.) Nothing major is involved, really. Just install everything as you normally would.

Markwere, just load the Win2K Server drivers from the utility cd that came with the system, they are the same as for Win2K Pro (and to a large degree, Win2003 Server) If you've already loaded Win2K Pro, you'll just need to update the drivers, starting first with the Chipset (mobo) driver, then the NIC driver (you want the Intel PRO drivers for the integrated mobo NIC) and then the integrated sound driver.
