PowerEdge 2300

I am trying to install RedHat Linux 7.1 on a PowerEdge 2300 Server. The server has a Perc/SC Raid Controller. I am unable to find the drivers for the perc card. I am pretty new to this whole Linux thing. Here is where i am at:

1. i boot up the server from the boot.img floppy made from 7.1.
2. I go through the choosing of the keyboard and mouse.
3. Then it asks me to choose a wrkst or server install.
4. If i choose any it says an eeror has occurred no valid devices were found on which to new filesystems.

Any help would be appereciated. Thanks!!

Got it! I had to update the perc/sc controller to the latest firmware and everything went through just fine. Thanks anyways.

I have a similar problem with a PE2300 and PERC 2/SC card.  The machine has 2 RAID '1' 8g disks.  Likewise, I'm new to this.  I've upgraded all of the firmware to the latest releases and I'm no longer getting any "Firmware out of date" type messages.

When attempting to install Suse 10 using Safe Install mode, everything works fine until it goes out to lunch when formating the root partition.  The format screen gets to 100% and then won't go any further.  I'm stumped.

Any suggestions?

Bob
