PowerEdge R510

1.We have a Dell PowerEdge server R510 [MM1124A026] this server is having service (attached screen shot file name service) is automatically getting disconnected every alternate day so we tried to configure this service to start automatically (see VMS service file) before if any failure we have to restart manually but after configuring for restart the service in recovery (see VMS recovery file) it is automatically getting restarted after 1 minute but the major issue is it is getting disconnected very often (every 2 hrs. - 3 hrs. sometimes every alternate hour).

2.How to transfer license from Dell PowerEdge R510 [MM1124A026] to Dell PowerEdge R510 [MM1124A028].

3.How can we trace license file for existing Dell PowerEdge server R510 [MM1124A026].

Rizwan.Sheikh,

1. Are you getting any amber lights on the server, or Blue Screen?

2. You would need to specify the specific license (idrac, SQL, Windows, etc) you are referring to. Also what is the current OS installed on the server. This will help us to determine the proper course of action.

If it is the iDrac license you are referring to then you can use the License tab of the iDrac GUI, or you can use the following racadm command to do the same.

C:\ >racadm -r IP.OF.THE.SERVER. r -u root -p calvin license export -f C:\export\lic1.xml -c idrac.embedded.1

This page walks through the Racadm export process - http://dell.to/1ohEtNk

3. You can do everything needed in the iDrac GUI license tab.

Let me know.
