Problem installing MikroTik system

I have been trying for days to install the MikroTik system on a Dell R640 server and I am encountering problems that I cannot understand, knowing that I have a Dell R720 server and I did not encounter any installation problems like the ones I encountered with the Dell R640.

Hello,

I'm not familiar with MikroTik and I'm not finding Dell has validated it for the R640.

Is the R640 on the MikroTik system compatibility information?

You may contact them for support as I am not finding this as a Dell product.

Is this an Operating system?

Your PowerEdge R640 supports these operating systems:

https://www.dell.com/support/home/en-us/drivers/supportedos/poweredge-r640

I could recommend you make the R640 firmware up to date:

Update Firmware Via HTTPS Using iDRAC 7-8-9

PowerEdge: How to Update Firmware Remotely Using the iDRAC Web Interface | Dell US

Maybe someone in the community has experience with the MikroTik and R640 that can share their experience.

Installation issues like that often come from hardware compatibility or boot configuration problems. I’ve seen MikroTik systems fail to install when the storage mode, BIOS settings, or network boot options aren’t aligned with what the installer expects. Checking boot order, disk detection, and whether the installer image was written correctly usually helps narrow down the cause.
