R715 - Server 2012 R2

I have two brand new R715 servers and am trying to run Server 2012 R2 on them.

I am getting a lot of blue screens on reboot, inaccessible_boot_device.

I read about some updates that cause this, so have done several rebuilds and still get them fault after windows updates run, but without the updates listed as problem.

Last thing I have done is just install Windows Server 2012 R2 and ESET File Security for Microsoft Windows Server.
After my first reboot of the server I still got the blue screen with the inaccessible_boot_device.

This gives me no confidence in putting the servers into the live environment.
Has anyone found the cause of this problem, and a solution???
Thank you!!

Sorry it has taken so long to reply.

Thank you ever so much for responding.

I had worked out that KB2919355 caused an issue similar to the one I was experiencing, what I couldn't work out was how it was causing it. I had gone through our WSUS server and removed all traces of that update, and the one that superseded it, yet I still got the problem.

After a lot of messing about I found the offending update was built in to both of the Microsoft ISO files I had.

Uninstalling that update is now the first thing I do when I install server OS, I think I may have 2919355 tattooed on me somewhere.....

Smcmatt,

What process are you using to install the OS, and Dell tools or disks being used? What I would suggest is install the OS via the Lifecycle Controller (F10). When doing so use the current Dell OS driver pack, located here

<ADMIN NOTE: Broken link has been removed from this post by Dell>

This will load the correct drivers during the install, instead of the native driver.

Let me know.
