Which server for Windows NT?

I have a question:

We (at work) are running Windows NT Server 4.0 w/ Exchange 5.5 and I would like to upgrade the machine to a real server.  However, we don't want to upgrade to 2003 at this time.  I have tried 2 different servers from another place, and I couldn't get NT to go on either one.

I'm thinking of a PowerEdge, but will I be able to put NT 4.0 on it?  Which server should I look at?

Thanks.

Hi, I think all official support for NT has now ended. You may be able to get a Dell to run NT - as I did a year or so ago with a 600SC which isnt supported for NT.

If there are no motherboard drivers from Dell/Intel for NT then you are stuffed - NT generally wont run properly, though it may run after a fashion.

Its tough - I didnt want to do it but I would stongly say go to 2003 - its not that complicated as everyone makes out.

2003 is very slow. Given the choice, I'd go with Windows 2000.

If you are trying to install NT 4 on a Intel IDE based system, download the intel application accellerator which loads the busmastering drivers for NT 4. It boosts the system performance tremendously in NT 4.
