Windows failed to copy file-2850 PERC Controller
Dear All,
One of our Dell 2850 PERC 4e/Di server failed due to a corrupted OS(Windows 2003 standard). It was configured as Raid 1 Controller. After failure I cleard the Raid 1 configuration in BIOS and reconfigured it exactly same as before.I intialized the disks as well.
I've got one weird problem and im really frustrated the problem is: When I insert the windows cd in the drive, everything works fine until it gets to the part "Windows started Copying files".
It will give an error message saying "Windows failed to copy file".I tried the installation with Dell open management disk as well but no success.
Help will be much appreciated.
Thanks & Regards
Aneesh Joseph

Sounds like your 2003 CD/media is bad. Check for dust or smudges ... may just be damaged.

Then your CD drive may be bad ... less common but similar symptoms. You might try a USB CD drive, if you have one ... or swap CD drive with another system.
Another possibility is that one of your hard disks is bad ... Dell's 32-bit Diagnostics can test the drives for you to be sure you are working with sound hardware. A bad disk, for the same reason that the copy fails, could also have been responsible for the OS corruption on your previous installation.
