Install scaleio 1.31 SDC on esx 5.5
Hi,
I've managed to get scaleio sdc 1.31 up and running on my esx host with the following:
esxcli software acceptance set --level=PartnerSupported
esxcli software vib install -d
where full_path_to_VIBis the full path to the sdc-1.31.XXX.X-esx5.5.zip
esxcli system module parameters set -m scini -p "IoctlIniGuidStr= IoctlMdmIPStr= "
esxcli system module load -m scini
Reboot esx.
esxcli system module list | grep sci
scini true true
I can see on the MDM node that the SDC is listed and connected.
The issue I'm having is the volume that I've mapped the SDC to is showing as a Fibre Channel storage adapter.

All volumes for ScaleIO appear as FC but they are not.

Hi,
That is just an internal name and is normal in ScaleIO so you can ignore it.
If you see below I created a 16GB volume in the Web Client and mapped it all to the SDC's. Then in vCenter you can see the same volume has been mounted to the ESX cluster. Notice the device identifier is the same, i.e. eui.4c888f8...
