iSCSI win2000 & Power Path versions
hi to all, I am new to EMC.
this is my second ax150 i SC
the first was perfectly installed on a directly attached server win 2003 with 2 nics and MS initiator 2.04
this second machine instead has to be connected to 3 windows 2000 servers and one 2003 server:
we have installed in each server two gigabit nics and two 8 ports gigabit switches for the redundancy and each nic is connected to one switch
two of the three servers are terminal servers
addresses:
ax150 100.100.0.100 - 100.100.1.100
server1 100.100.0.101 - 100.100.1.101 lh3000 win 2k T.S.
server2 100.100.0.102 - 100.100.1.102 ml530 win 2k T.S.
server3 100.100.0.103 - 100.100.1.103 ML350 win2k
server4 100.100.0.104 - 100.100.1.104 ML330 server 2003
we have installed the Microsoft initiator 2.06 latest version found on the MS site on all the servers
server utility is 6.20.4.2.0
power path installed is 4.5.2
the server initialization detects the storage
we "played" with the software, indeed, for an afternoon with one system to understand how it works, iSCSI worked for a while and we have a connection to the storage using power path 4.5.0, then we tried 5.0, then 4.5.2 but since then we have problems with the Microsoft iSCSI initiator: we type the storage address 100.100.0.100 - port 3260, and in advanced config we specify the nic address of the server: we always get connection failed, so we cannot discover anything and power path does not find any path
navisphere express PINGS correctly with 1ms time on each ports.
We have some questions that arise also from our inexperience
on the EMC documentation is written to use the last ms iSCSI initiator, is correct or we must downgrade from the 2.6 version?
on the EMC site there are different versions of power path from 4.5.0 (on CD for the ax150) , a 5.0, a 5.1.0, but also a NEW 4.5.2 (win 2000) dated december 13, 2007: what are the correct versions to use for AX150 SPi ?
and for what concernes the uninstallation of iSCSI and Power Path, it is enough to use the control panel or there are information in the registry that remain somewhere?
How can we do to clean the installation and restart?
thanks for any of you that could give some experience and thanks for your time!

thanks anyway
what i did not know yesterday is that after uninstall of power path one must switch off the server, disconnect the redundant cables and switch again on...
but I think the problem can come also from iSCSI Microsoft: and I have finished my thoughts, unless the AX is not working correctly

i would suggest you totally remove all powerpath versions from the host. make sure the host can ping the storage and vice versa. then follow primus emc133667 for gotchas with iscsi and the "emc host connectivity guide" which you can find both by searching power link
