I have installed on RedHat 4.0 U4 PowerPath 4.5.3 and:
kernel-hugemem-2.6.9-34.0.1.EL

./PowerPath start
Starting PowerPath: PowerPath could not load module emcpmp
cat: /sys/class/misc/emcpower/dev: No such file or directory
cat: /sys/class/misc/emcpower/dev: No such file or directory
mknod: when creating special files, major and minor device numbers must be specified Try `mknod --help' for more information.
failed to create emcpower device
PowerPath: unable to load PowerPath modules.

My mistake. I forget to reinstall PP after installing new kernel !

In documentation now I found:

Upgrading a Linux kernel results in the deletion of the installed
PowerPath drivers. Replace the PowerPath package so that the
PowerPath drivers are copied to the new Linux kernel directory.
