Powerpath install - CX700 & Compaq HSG80
Hi,
We have a Windows 2000 SP4 server which is currently connected to a Compaq Storageworks MA8000 with 2xHSG80 controllers through a single Compaq HBA. It connects to this through a Storageworks Loop and is the only server on this fabric.
We wish to transfer this to system to our existing Clariion CX700 through our DS24-M switched fabric. To accomplish this we have installed 2 x Emulex 9002L HBA's but when we install Powerpath 4.51 and reboot the server we have a BSOD with Inaccessable Boot device. Unfortunatly EMC support have not been able to shed any light on this. However I have realised that when we installed Powerpath we did not enable the HP Storageworks tick box. Before I try another reinstall enabling the above option can anybody give me some info on what possible effect this may have or even if they know why Power Path would cause a BSOD Inaccessable Boot Device on startup.
Thanks

Or try leaving powerpath off it until the migration is complete?
These are only workarounds, EMC Support should be able to help you figure out why Powerpath is causing a BSOD.

We backed up to tape all the data on the HP MA8k, then uninstalled all the HP stuff and after that we've installed all the EMC stuff (hba, drivers, naviagent/navicli/powerpath), the last step was to make the restore from tape.
