PowerPath with SDD on IBM AIX 5.2
I have a server IBM P570 AIX 5.2 with SDD installed.
This server already has IBM ESS volumes through SCSI, and I added CX300 through 2 IBM 5716 HBA.
I trying to install PowerPath on this server, IBM CE told me that wouldn't work.
One of his site has problem with SDD and PowerPath.
So, I attached 2 paths without PowerPath.
Each path has 5 LUNs, total 10 LUNs.
And customer made a Volume Group with all 10 LUNs(stripe).
I think, if 1 path link down causes big trouble for that VG.
This there any way to use PowerPath on that server?
Or, is there any way to prevent VG corrupt?
Please help me with that.

CE may be right to say that SDD and powerpath try to cause issues. both of them may not be compatible, depending on the version of each. its best to rely on one path management software than two at a time, unless there is a need to use both of them.
can you talk to IBM and get the configuration validated?
in any case, when you setup failover (in supported or unsupported config), its best to test the failover by manually disturbing a path (by disabling switch ports, disconnecting cable etc..)
